Coffee Cup 2012 remained exciting throughout and went down to the final round, in which Marc needed to beat Gunnar by 169 points to claim first prize. In the event, Marc"s winning margin was 82% less than this! Remarkably, all eight players finished in the same order that they stood (and still stand) on the rating list. There were many dazzling plays, but AL(LEV)IATEs (by Greger) stood out. Gunnar"s first prize puts him in pole position for qualification for the World Scrabble Championship 2013.
